Wally’s, a California staple, has found a new home at Resorts World in Las Vegas.

Founded in Los Angeles, Wally’s opens its first location outside of southern California by virtue of its partnership with Resorts World.

A unique blend of wine bar, restaurant, and market, Wally’s offers guests a casual, yet sophisticated experience. With nearly innumerable wine options, diners will have no issues finding something to fit their tastes, from the novice, looking to enjoy a drink with friends, to the connoisseur, seeking to satisfy their refined tastes, Wally’s has something for everyone.

Located just beyond the main floor of the casino, Wally’s invites diners to enjoy a relatively quiet atmosphere, despite the heavy foot traffic just outside the establishment.

Upon entering, one will walk through the ‘outdoor’ seating, where they’ll be immediately greeted by the host. If looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the hotel, indoor seating, either at a table or the bar will be the best bet. Once inside, it’s difficult not to take notice of the towering walls adorned with countless bottles of wine- available for purchase- from all over the world. A dimly lit interior combined with darkened walls contrast the harsh white floors and bright lights directly outside, making it an all the more inviting experience.

Once seated and comfortable, it’s time to take a look at the menu.

The drink menu, as one would imagine, consists primarily of wine, just about any type, from any region, one could think of. There’s a minor cocktail menu, but clearly that’s not the highlight of Wally’s. The food menu consists of classic staples one would expect at any established wine bar, charcuterie boards with fine cheeses, caviar, to more unpretentious dishes like pizza and sandwiches. For those looking for a heartier meal however, there’s plenty of options that will satiate one’s hunger and desire for finer dining, including dishes like wagyu tomahawk steak.

If overwhelmed by the seemingly endless list of wines wally’s has to offer, have no fear, the staff, both charismatic and knowledgeable, can offer guidance and suggestions.

I myself am no wine expert, but I do enjoy it, and had no problems finding the right glass at the suggestion of the bartender. To both my pleasure and benefit, I also received advice from a fellow patron at the bar, one traveling from out of county, who was more than familiar with his wine. During some pleasant conversation, where I learned that Las Vegas was a frequent travel destination of his, he stated, between sips of a wine I cannot pronounce, that “there’s not many places like this on the strip,” to which I would agree.

As a Las Vegas local, I, and as many others may agree, tend to not frequent the strip, I prefer a slightly more lowkey setting; however, to my pleasant surprise, Wally’s offered just that.

Whether a local or traveler, if you’re seeking a unique experience, to either wine and dine, or pick up a bottle to add to an existing collection, Wally’s is certainly worth the visit.
