Deep Goswami, Esq. (2026)

Deep Goswami, Esq.
North Las Vegas
Chief Deputy City Attorney

Deep A. Goswami serves as Chief Deputy City Attorney for the Criminal Division of the City of North Las Vegas. In that role he helps lead the city’s prosecution of misdemeanor and infraction cases arising inside city limits, including domestic violence, battery, petty theft, driving under the influence, code violations, and traffic offenses. The City Attorney’s Office is the city’s chief legal office. Its criminal work is aimed at timely, even-handed prosecution in North Las Vegas Municipal Court and related local forums, while the office as a whole also advises city officials and litigates civil matters. Goswami’s office is in the North Las Vegas Justice Facility at 2332 Las Vegas Boulevard North.

Goswami’s path to municipal prosecution began in Texas and California. He earned a B.A. in psychology, with a minor in music, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996, then received his J.D. from Baylor Law School. After law school he spent a year as a prosecutor in Midland, Texas. He later studied at the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles and toured the West Coast with the band Stereotribe, including shows at the Roxy and the Troubadour. In 2005 he won the Lionel Richie Songwriting Scholarship, in part for a song used on the television series Dawson’s Creek. He has said he is passionate about both law and music.

In Los Angeles he opened his own firm and concentrated first on criminal defense. A Los Angeles judge who had seen him in court urged him to audition for The Law Firm, the NBC reality series produced by David E. Kelley, creator of The Practice and Ally McBeal. About 30,000 lawyers applied; twelve were chosen. Contestants handled real cases for real clients under trial lawyer Roy Black. Goswami reached the final three. The civil matters assigned on the show were new to him after years of criminal trial work. After the series he expanded his firm into entertainment law while continuing to try cases.

His extensive trial background now informs his work as a municipal prosecutor. He understands how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and tried, and he brings that experience to a high-volume city docket. North Las Vegas is a large, fast-growing municipality whose City Attorney’s Office is charged with protecting residents through prosecution of local crimes and with giving sound legal advice to the Mayor, City Council, and city departments. As Chief Deputy for the Criminal Division, Goswami’s responsibility is to keep that prosecution function organized, professional, and accountable.
